I heard an awesome message last night on our local christain radio station. I think it was John Macarthur but can't recall exactly. It was about Christ's deity. I'd like to share what I remember from it.

So many people today argue the trinity, they argue whether Jesus was God, or just God's son. Whether He was a prophet, a good man, or if He even existed at all. Many will say that Jesus never said that He was God, but I beg to differ. Jesus did say it...He knows exactly who He is...and when it's all said and done, you have to options. Either fall at His feet and worship Him as the living God...or stone Him as a blasphemer....there is no middle ground.

Looking back through the Bible, God calls Himself by many names...but there is one name that really stands out. There is one name that the Jewish people knew God by....I AM.

Looking back at Moses, we see it. God addresses Himself as I AM and from that moment on...Israel knows Him as such.

Exo 3:13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the sons of Israel, and shall say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they shall say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them?
Exo 3:14 And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM. And He said, So you shall say to the sons of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.

What a powerful statement. I AM...it denotes no beginning, and no ending. It simply says that I am eternal...and the Israelites were ok with that. They understood it as such.

Now, flash forward a couple thousand years and we see Jesus standing before the children of Israel once again. And He speaks to them.

Joh 8:58 Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham came into being, I AM!

What was their response? They picked up rocks and were about to stone Him to death for blasphemy!! They knew that name!! They knew that it was the name that only the Almighty God had used. Saying such a thing was unbelievable to them...yet Jesus said it. He knew who He was. He didn't say that before Abraham, I was LIKE God. No...He used the exact same title that was held in reverence to God Almighty! There's no denying it...Jesus IS God!

When it's all said and done, there is nothing to add...no debate. Jesus declared Himself to be God and there are only two options at that point...you either except it and fall at His feet, or you deny Him and call Him a blasphemer.

I'm sure I butchered it, but that was about all I could remember from it...but it was really good.

Anyway,
Peace,
Bone

If you've got about 30 minutes to listen...I found the real audio of it...or one that is very similar. It's worth listening to. :clap

God-The Father

God-The Son

God-The Holy Spirit

I must confess tho, I don't really understand it, I just accept it. To me at least it is kinda the way God created us: body, mind, the soul or spirit. Three separate but yet one. :wave

Amen!!!

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us

Praise His name!

Bone - you didn't butcher anything thing brother :hug That was an excellent post :thumb Thank you for sharing.

I am constantly amazed at how God has revealed Himself throughout the ages to man.

Jesus told the Jews in the temple, "I and My Father are one." (John 10:30).

Also when Jesus prayed in the garden, He said "Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. (John 17:11)
