Anyone know much about this coming show? Not sure if I should watch this or not. Wonder how biblical it is going to be.

If it's going to be on secular television I wouldn't put much weight on how biblical it will be.

I saw commercials for it last night and I was like :hrm.
Here's a blurb I found:
This limited drama series revolves around a group that works to hold off the apocalypse. More specifically, it's the showdown between God and Satan as foretold in the Bible book of Revelations.
----------------------------
Set just before the start of Armageddon, the series will follow two central characters, a physicist and a nun, who are racing against the clock to see if the end of the world apocalypse can be averted. Bill Pullman is up for the role of Dr. Richard Massey, a Harvard professor whose daughter is murdered by satanists while McElhone stars as a nun who recruits Massey to help investigate whether what's told in the Book of Revelations is starting to come true. Seltzer and Polone with executive produce the project along with Pariah Television's Vivian Cannon and Jessika Borsiczky.

They already "blew" it. It's Revelation, not Revelations.

THANK YOU! :thumb
I don't know why it bothers me so much to hear Revelation called "Revelations", but for some reason it does.

You know... just the premise of this show sounds horrible. The End of all Things will not be held off by anyone. Everytime secular people try to even respectfully broach the subject of Revelation they picture it as this great battle that has to be diverted or is like a fight between Superman and Lex Luthor. The final battle is not in question. It will be interesting to see how often the elusive 'J' word is used (which btw was never used in 'Touched by an Angel' or is not used in '7th Heaven). Movies/shows that always deal with this leave out the fact that Christ is the one that is returning. Then He simply puts Death and Hell and Satan in Hades. I'll also point out that Left Behind also does seem to show a dualistic, rather than monotheistic view of the last battle.

I saw a commercial for this last night, and it "seemed" like the end-times were occurring because of the birth of a baby. Who is this baby supposed to be anyway?
I MIGHT watch it depending on what else is on. I don't put any Biblical credibility in it whatsoever though.

Ah... then it sounds akin to those silly 'Rosemary's Baby' type movies in the 70's where the final battle starts with a devil child. Or maybe in this case a God baby. Makes for an interesting (well, not interesting) horror movie, but it's not biblical.
Remember folks, this is the same network that will give us a show about a modern day Jesus. I'm guessing this Jesus won't be an evangelical or a fundamentalist.

Surely it's a play on words--Revelations are what the two main characters must have as they discover signs of the end times. Whoever titled the show must know that "Revelation" is the proper name for the book of the Bible but since most people not familiar with the Bible think the last book in the N.T. is "Revelations", they probably went with naming the show "Revelations" for its dual meaning.
BTW, I can't stand it when people refer to the book of "Revelations" either.

I chuckled at this, mainly because it is Revelation, not plural. Plus, how much do you want to bet the ACLU WONT try to pull this off the air? I find it udderly hillarious.
Now I just watched that video. I don't trust it but some of it seems to be accurate.
Not accurate:
1. There is no end, it is a world without end.
2. The AC is not coming out of an american prison.
3. The Title.
4. Various obvious dramatic changes
Accurate:
1. The Bible refrences.
2. The fact there is an AC.
I'm not going to watch it, if anyone does, let me know how it is. :freaked

Hollywood knows that end time prophecy is big bucks (as a result of the Left Behind series) so they are jumping on the bandwagon.
Also CNN is doing a 5 part series on Hollywood and Religion. Basically they say ever since Passion, Hollywood realizes there is a market of Evangelical Christians that are willing to spend money on "Religious/Bible movies" and so Hollywood is going to try and fill that void for them.
In honesty I think this is an attempt of the devil to get Bible believing Christians to accept non biblical doctrine as being true doctrine.

Well, this might open up some people's curiosity to see what the Word REALLY says.

It couldnt be too biblical...it has Jesus coming back to earth as a baby found floating on a lily pad in the ocean. (At least that is was the trailer shows on the website).

Kinda odd really, the 3 movies of the Omen series have the AC wiping out babies to stop Christ coming back, but at the end it shows where Christ was always going to come back as grown and Invincible.
