Worship Workshop- Joe Pace
1. God does not want your worship, He wants you. Where there is no relationship there is no worship. Relationship with the Father is necessary for real worship. True worshippers are hard to find. John 4:23. (Do not put your worship in a box because God is not in a box).
2. Your talent does not supersede your relationship. Without relationship worship is hollow. Your best singer might not be your best worship leader. Do not put people in positions because of their talent. Relationship determines your level of authority. You cannot lead where you don’t go. Sunday should be a manifestation of what you do all week long. With relationship comes authority to access. Make sure that your worship is not intellectual but, from your heart. At some time we have to stop singing and become the song.
3. Important questions. Are you called to this area of Ministry? Can you sing? Do not short change God by being unprepared and say things like, “Pray for me as I attempt to sing this song.” If you are called to worship your feelings are irrelevant.
4. Pastors should be involved in praise and worship. The Choir is an extension of the priesthood.
Some Do’s and Don’ts
1. Preparation: Don’t ask God to anoint what is unprepared. The more prepared
you are, the smoother the flow.
2. Sound Personnel: Sound will make or break you. Show the sound people some
love. (lol) Record the worship and Evaluate.
3. Be certain that you have the right personnel, right people in the right place.
Have a solid structure, rules, mission statement, job descriptions indicating levels of authority and be consistent in the application of regulations.
4. Where purpose is not known abuse is inevitable.
5. Eliminate the monsters, Stars Divas. Ensure that every person follows the same
rules. Be consistent, do not create monsters.
