THE DIVINE COMMISSION
By Bill Burns
October 8, 2004
Today, October 8, is the eighth day of assembly known as the Feast of Conclusion, which follows the seven days of Tabernacle (Succoth). The eighth day symbolizes one's removal from the cares of this world. It is a time when one enters the secret place in communion with the Lord. The eighth day is a day in which what was hidden is revealed.
It is a day when God's people rejoice over the prophetic word of the Lord and rejoice that Jesus Christ is still speaking to His Church. It is also a time in which the season that is behind us is brought to a conclusion.
The number eight signifies a time of new beginnings.
Isaiah 42:9 Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them."
The Conclusion of the Former Season
It is interesting to me that God chose to birth the Third Day Church just prior to the presidential election that took place in 2000. The new term for the office of President began during the first year of the Third Day Church. This year brings the four-year term to a conclusion.
We are living in the end of the age when the remaining prophetic events outlined in the scriptures will come to a conclusion. For this reason the political and spiritual activity that takes place will be interconnected. This is why I believe that the beginning of the Third Day Church coincided with the beginning of the presidential term.
American experienced strong "Christian" political leadership under Ronald Reagan and George Bush, Sr. However, the people wanted a king rather than a spiritual person in office. The desire of the people (majority) wanted a king who could give them wealth ("It's the economy, Stupid!") rather than to continue under "righteous authority." So, the Lord gave the people what they wanted; He gave them a Saul (Clinton). The eight years of Clinton produced a tremendous moral decline in this country because the leadership was immoral.
The Lord then birthed the Third Day Church, which began to cry out to God for righteous leadership, and the light of a burning Bush was given to the people. It is God who establishes leaders, and it is God who removes them (Daniel 2:21). The outcome of the last election was settled by the Supreme Court, which was ruled over by a higher court, the court of the Lord.
Bill Clinton began in 1993 establishing the leadership of Saul, but the Lord began to spiritually raise up the Tabernacle of David in America in 1996 (Acts 15:16). The spiritual warfare of the Church in the spirit of David defeated the giant of unrighteous mammon, and God gave America a Bush that receives His light (wisdom).
The spiritual and political connection of these last days was revealed in the first year of Bush's presidency on September 11, 2001. Just prior to the Feast of Trumpets the towers that the prophet Isaiah saw fell.
Isaiah 30:25 There will be on every high mountain And on every high hill Rivers and streams of waters, In the day of the great slaughter, When the towers fall.
In the day that the towers fell the streams of living water were already flowing from David's house (Zion). The Third Day Church released a new flow of living (prophetic) water that was coming to the nations.
The towers did not fall because of President Bush's service; they fell because of Saul's transgressions. The biblical account of a similar transgression is recorded in 2 Samuel chapter 21. The famine that David experienced for three years was because of Saul's mistreatment of the Gibeonites. Joshua had made a covenant with the Gibeonites, which Saul broke.
Those who are not spiritually minded declare that Iraq had no connection to the fall of the twin towers, but before Isaiah's prophecy in chapter 30 he spoke these words:
Isaiah 23:13 Behold, the land of the Chaldeans, This people which was not; Assyria founded it for wild beasts of the desert. They set up its towers, They raised up its palaces, And brought it to ruin.
14 Wail, you ships of Tarshish! For your strength is laid waste.
Babylon is the land of the Chaldeans, and Babylon is in present-day Iraq. But, material Babylon is not confined to Iraq; it is a society that loves material wealth (read Revelation chapter 18).
President Bush was divinely led to invade Iraq because it was the very action that set the prophetic events of the last days in motion. Isaiah refers to the ships of Tarshish; Ezekiel also identifies the merchants of Tarshish (America) in chapter 38 verse 13. These are the young lions that stand with Israel in the days of the fulfilling of Ezekiel's prophecy.
The Prophetic Sign -- Florida
The last election was decided by Florida, and that is why the enemy (Satan) has brought such destruction to Florida. Florida's part in the election gave George Bush four years in the "White" House, which is to be a place of righteousness. This is why this year (2004) four hurricanes have struck Florida. It is as though the enemy sent four ill winds, one for each year that President Bush has served. It is the enemy's statement to tell America that he does not want four more years of President Bush's leadership, and it is his threat of more destruction if Bush remains in office.
