Just food for thought... For those familiarize with this system, it is a time clocking system, sometimes including biometric technology, used in a lot of workplaces that was named after a Greek god. Here's the story..

Kronos KROH nuhs
Father of Zeus and sire of the Olympians
A fearful god and jealous of his inevitable passing, Kronos was a Titan, the son of Uranus and Gaia, husband and brother of Rheia.
Kronos killed his father Uranus and tried, unsuccessfully, to kill his children. Rheia had five children and Kronos swallowed them whole as quickly as they were born. When her sixth child, Zeus, was born, Rheia tricked Kronos and gave him a stone instead of the baby. Kronos didn’t find out about the deception until it was too late. Zeus ambushed Kronos and kicked him so hard he vomited forth the other, swallowed, gods, fully grown: Hades, Hestia, Demeter, Hera and Poseidon.

Zeus was made leader by his grateful siblings and each took a portion of creation as their dominion. A war was declared against the Titans and those who would not yield to the authority of Zeus were utterly destroyed. The Titans who fought alongside Zeus and the other Olympians were allowed to keep their rank and power in the new order. The river Styx and her children were the first to come to Zeus’ side. Thereafter, Styx was given a place of honor (and dread) among the immortals as The Oath River.
Zeus exiled Kronos to Tartaros but later he allowed his broken and defeated father to join the Heroes in a paradise at the end of the world.

He is often confused with the Roman god, Saturn.

There is no point... I was just wondering why the name of a greek god was used for this type of system, that's all....

Probably not named after the god. "Chronos" is Greek for "Time".

Probably, but they spelled it like the greek god, with a K... Kronos..

We have Kronos where I work and yes, it's spelled with a "K". I don't know why the chose that spelling. I like the system, however. It certainly keeps people honest. Our company was losing lots and lots of money because people were saying they were working hours that they actually weren't working.:tsk
Our system is set up so that you can swipe your ID badge and see just exactly how much vacation time you have, sick time, personal time, etc.

My guess would be that, in this instance, it was done merely to diffrentiate it from existing products. Changing a 'c' to a 'k', or a 'i' to a 'y' isn't at all uncommon.

As for the use of ancient gods names, well it's hardly new.
Nike shoes, Apollo rockets, all of the planets, the days of the week, etc.

This just in . . .

Wednesday is named after the king of the gods, who was Wotan in ancient German and Odin.

There for the Antichrist will be born on Wednesday and everything that happens on Wednesday is satanic.

No, no, no, you've got it all wrong. Saturday is named after Saturn (Chronos), the father of Jupiter (Zeus) not in Germany, but in Rome!
Your German god has nothing on a Roman god.
You know, Roman, like the revived Roman empire.
So the Antichrist will really be born on a Saturday, and everything that happens on Saturday is Satanic.
