I'm of the opinion that we'll be able to understand all languages or the Lord will have us all speaking the same language and understanding each other.

Anyone else ever thought about this? :):

Gen 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

The Jerusalem Targum paraphrases the words,"and all the generations of the earth were of one language, and of one speech, and of one counsel, for they spoke in the holy tongue in which the world was created at the beginning.

So we will speak in the "holy tongue" (which I hope is pretty close to English :B: ).

Nothing says it will be a spoken language, perhaps more like thought forms or communicating mentally without needing to speak.

maybe we all have a hidden language inside us that we dont know we know, that we cant use until we meet God.

that thought disappoints me as I rather enjoy words and speaking them....
some words are what I call, "delicious"........

I wonder how God will chose what IS Heaven and what IS not, since what is Heaven to one, may not be Heaven to another.....for instance, I would not enjoy certain music in Heaven.......or certain weather........etc.......

interesting discussion......with such diversity, it should be quite interesting "pleasing " all of us...... :lol

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I wait knowing no matter what...its gonna be good..

I have had the same thoughts, Cenimo...... I even dreamed once that I was in Heaven and I was told that I didn't need to speak with my mouth because my every thought was known. I didn't need to think about how to articulate my thoughts, it was very comforting.

Woukd you rather have the ability to speak a few delicious words, or be able to 'thought-form' all the delicious words, in all languages, known and unknown?
Just a thought.

Wow, that's an amazing dream. Must have been some experience.

All

OK, let's picture it something like this......
A person gets to heaven, and is told they are granted anything they want.
All their life this person has wanted a Jaguar car. So "St Peter" says, "Are you sure that's what you want?"
"Yes, that's it"
Poof, a new Jaguar appears.
This person fgoes all over heaven telling people he knew on earth, and anyone within earshot about this new Jaguar.
Those who have been in heaven for awhile know that you don't need a car to travel, it's Heaven . You merely think of going to a place and you can go there if you want.

OK, the Jaguar is a spoken language and the thinking of traveling is the heavenly language, think of it that way.

probably Portuguese, it's the prettiest language...
sure won't be English, the most beautiful, most flowing, word in English is... 'manure'
