Don’t you love it when you have times of perfect peace? Your heart is bursting; God is blessing you and you are singing and praising Him, and walking about two feet off the ground...
I once heard being in the center of the will of God described as being perfectly tuned in. Like to a radio station - when you are right on the frequency, the signal is so clear. But if you turn just a little to the left, or a little to the right - static.
The static in my spiritual life is manifested by frustration, uncertainty, a frenzy of activity, or a complete lack of activity. It’s like being in a maze, and you keep coming to dead ends.
When you first turn, the static isn’t great, and the noise of life can drown it out. But after 3 or 4 wrong turns, the static is deafening, and it catches you by surprise. You gotta back track; recall, confess, repent, recall, confess, repent... It is so important to keep short accounts with God, before you get WAY off course.
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord. Isaiah 55:8
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Psalm 3:5-6
I don’t understand why some things that I think are ok are wrong. And that is not completely honest. I know it’s wrong, even if it is a minor issue (to me), but I do it anyway, because I’m living in the flesh instead of the spirit. Now I may momentarily forget that I’m gonna get static if I do it, but as soon as I get static, I know I better turn from it whether I understand why it is wrong or not. You cannot make any compromise with wrong, no matter how slight the compromise. How I long for the day when my flesh is truly dead and doesn’t pop up and get me off God’s path!
Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Psalm 25:4
Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil. Proverbs 4:26-27
When a man's ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7
Well, I want more peace (all peace), and less static (no static) in my life. I’m gonna try a lot harder to be faithful even in the little things. Especially in the little things. NO COMPROMISE. I want to be so on the path of righteousness, so in tune with my Father, so in His grip and at the center of His good and perfect will... I can’t undo the past, but I can recall, confess, repent, and move forward. My Fathers mercies are new every morning!
Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in Him! " The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:22-26
If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13
For I am the LORD, I do not change. Malachi 3:6
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
