I was wondering if any of you have seen this?

It is the Bible put on video/DVD. It includes all the verses(NT) written and read aloud from the CEV (contemorary English version). It includes moving illustrations with actors and visuals....but in a vague non distracting manner....it also has background music dubbed in...

Do you think this is a valid approach to Bible translation?
Would you buy one...it is priced at about $250 for 12 or so DVD's?
Any thoughts on the CEV translation?

I got a free CEV translation when i went to the ELCA national Youth Gathering last year....it just doesn't speak to me the way i need it to and the way my NIV sometimes can. The word choice just doesnt seem to convey as intense of feelings to me?

I couldn't afford $250...but if i had extra money i might buy it.
I also see the KJV bible is on tape read by James Earl Jones at various places including Wal-Mart

Bought it. Love it. If you want to just sample it, half hour clips are shown regularly on some Christian networks or you can just purchase one "book" (like the Gospel of John) for about 19.95 or so. May be able to find it cheaper on eBay.

There's also a preview video on their website:

(price on their site is $199)
