Has anyone ever seen the spirit world, either as an answered request from God, or they just saw it one day? If so, could you please explain what you saw if possible?

When I was in the occult, I saw many strange things. I have seen shadowy black figures, I have seen smoky areas, where there is nothing burning. I have heard things, like door shutting. I once was trying to experiment with leaving my body, and going into the spirit world, when I suddenly became aware that I was above myself and not in my body anymore. I don't know if that makes sense or not?? But I became afraid and slammed back inside my body.

I know others who have experienced this will understand.

I was also able to meditate, on people and see them and what they where doing. I was also able to feel if others where doing the same to me. I would feel a presence around me, and I was able to see that person.

The spirit world is very real, and not something to play with, the demons are allot stronger than we are, and they can take control of us very easily. And all these things that I have described come from them. And from someone opening the door to them, like I had done.

I do an awful lot of spiritual warfare lately..

yes, i've seen, heard, experienced and felt things that many would say you're crazy for seeing/hearing/experiencing/feeling.

Yes I have seen a demon and so has my son. It was at night and I did not ask for it neither did my son. who was 3 at the time. I saw a little dead girl who was smiling at me and my son saw something that scared him to almost convolutions. It happened at the same time. The exact same time different places in the house.
My other son saw a dragon fly around his room. We prayed he said the dragon was behind bars at the zoo now. He was 3 at the time.
It would be great If I could see the Good side of the spirit world

In the sense that we are defining it in this thread, I do not think that there is good side of the spirit world.

When I was a Wiccan, I could see auras, read tarot and other such things. Up on being saved I prayed that God would take these from me and now I don't remember much about the occult, only that is dangerous and anyone who "dabbles" in it is playing with fire.

Yes I understand But it would be nice to see the God side of it. There are two players in the spirit world battle. Satan and God. I would just like to see the God side. Make more since.

It used to be occasional, but since 9/11 it's been almost constant. Shadows, shadowed figures, faint words and sounds, something brushing my shoulder, etc. Sometimes just that feeling that raises the hair on the back of your neck. Some of it comes from being a believer and being more "tuned in" to spiritual things; some of it is from things you unknowingly bring in. When I was 6 I brought a certain book home from school, and when I turned the office desk lamp on the shadow of a gremlin-like figure appeared on the wall. My mother prayed, we returned the book and the shadow never came back. There are good experiences, too: when I was a toddler at Toys R Us my parents say I looked to the ceiling, stood up in the cart and opened my arms, and a balloon floating above the rafters came straight down into my hands "as though guided by an angel".

I believe part of it is definitely spiritual warfare being fought around us, but since we "see through a glass darkly" we only pick up snippets of it. God is manifest in the spiritual realm, therefore that is reality. This world is temporal, so it makes sense that--as this world comes to its end--we see deeper into the spiritual realm.

I haven't seen anything, thank God...:freaked ...but before I believed I smelled my father's clothes as they used to smell when he came home from working at the distillary. He used to smell of malt and hops. I smelled this a few years after he died when I was lying in bed alone in the house. I was under 15 at the time. I remember being paralyzed with fear and whispering his name. The smell eventually went away. None of his belongings were in the house at that time.

In the same house, a few years later, I heard a piano clearly play, although there wasn't one for miles around. I ran out of the house and refused to go back for a few hours.

Another time, after I became a believer, I remember lying in bed when I felt an overwhelming sense of pressure on top of me and terror which overwhelmed me. I was afraid to move it was so evil. I just kept whispering Jesus name in sheer panic. It eventually left.

The funny thing is, I am not a touchy-feely kind of person. I don't have "feelings" about spiritual things. I don't usually sense things. My faith is more an intellectual faith in many senses, although I certainly have a heartfelt belief in Christ's work on the cross.

To me, this makes the above incidents even more believable. I am naturally a skeptic about this sort of thing, but I also know exactly what happened to me.

If I ever saw something, I would probably have a heart attack. :freaked

Edited to add that my grandmother was a medium and that as a young teen before I was saved, I used to fool around with Oiuja boards. (Yes, they really do move by themselves). I don't know if this had anything to do with these incidents.

i still see their shadows though i havn't practiced witchery in about 3 years

on the bad side of the 'spirit world' there is no good- sometimes things look like they are good but it is a lie.

as for the GOOD side of the "spirit world" we will see it soon enough....for me, it is enough to know it will be there and it will be purely good

I don't recall ever actually seeing anything but I heard someone say my name once. I was in a laundry room COMPLETELY alone. It was a small laundry room (an apartment laundry room) and the door was shut. I heard someone say my name. It was so real that I turned around and looked at the door thinking someone had come in. No one. Then I heard my name again. That's when I started looking behind the garbage can, under the folding table, etc. to see if anyone was in there. No one. The voice didn't have a male or a female sound to it (if that makes any sense) and it wasn't a loud voice. It said my name quietly but in the manner like it was trying to get my attention.

I do not have schizophrenia and do not "hear" things so that's why this really took me by surprise. It didn't scare me, just surprised me.

I've caught black scuttlings just on the edge of my peripheral vision but I don't know if these are just functions of the eye. Someone told me a long time ago that black scuttlings that you see on the outskirts of your vision were spirits. I don't know if that's true or not. I'm kinda ignorant in that stuff.

Here's one that I believe was from God.

When we first moved to our home, my son was 2 years old. I had my computer in another room, and was working on it. My two boys where in the living room playing. Then I heard nothing. I got up and looked and my little one had fallen asleep on the floor with his pillow. So I thought I would leave him there as not to disturb him.

And I returned to my computer. After about 10 min. I felt like I should look in on him, but I was right in the middle of something and just ignored it. About 2 minutes later I felt something push me really hard from behind, although it didn't feel like something had actually touched me. My husband looked at me all puzzled because of the way I got up. I went to check immidiately for my little one, and he was gone. I started calling out for him, but I couldn't find him.

I opened the door , which I noticed wasn't locked, I always kept it locked, because he was opening doors now. And I found him down the driveway almost to the highway.

If that angel, and that's what I believe it was, hadn't pushed me out of that seat, I'm afraid to even imagine what could have happened.

I am so thankful to God for what He did for me and my son that day. It's one experience I will never forget!!

My sister, when she was in her teens and twenties, read alot of witchcraft type books, I don't know that she ever got into the actual cerimony type things affilliated with it or not. She had this set of brass bells on her dresser, about 5-6 that hung on a stand. She was in her room reading witchcraft and yelled out for us, my other sister an me saw it!! The bells turned up to the side and stayed there, when my sister thru the book, they went back down.

Another time before that, her little lamp by the bed barely lifted then fell over real slow.

She is now a Christian praise the Lord!!

It is nothing to mess with!

I believe that NDEs (near death experiences) have opened up a look at the spirit world. Today we can do cpr and heroics and bring people back. Many of these people have described what happened when they died and many did not want to come back.

There is a book by Maurice Rawlings called "Beyond Death;s Door" that chronicles some of the experiences of people who have been clinically dead. Maurice Rawlings is a cardiologists and has had first hand experience with those who have died and then been "brought back."

Be careful of NDEs that tell of "other paths to heaven" besides Jesus, but I believe the book mentioned above will give you a glimpse of the spirit world that is quiet refreshing.

Many people who have had NDEs say they have lost their fear of death because of it.

I guess I was looking to see more of the 'good' side of the spirit world, i.e. definite angel sightings, or spiritual warfare between angels and demons. Anyone else?

Yep, I'm one of the people who had an NDE. That was quite an experience!

Through the years, I have had a lot of spiritual experiences --- good and bad. I had an angel experience when 2 guys grabbed me in the stairwell back in my college days. They were threatening me and I actually heard a soft voice instructing me what to do to get out of that situation. Talk about a MIRACLE!

Another time, I was at a Christian Women's Club luncheon. As I was listening to the speaker, I suddenly had a vision of my daugher (when she was a little girl) falling flat on her back while on the playground at school. I suddenly jerked and nearly spilled my ice tea!:pound My impulse was to run to the nearest phone and call the school but I decided to pray, instead. I checked my watch and realized that my daughter would, in fact, be on the playground at that time.

When I got home, my daughter arrived home 5 minutes later. She seemed okay when she came in the door but was having a little trouble breathing. When I asked her if she had fun during recess, she told me that she fell on her back from the monkey bars and that it knocked the wind out of her. It took quite a while for her to get her breathing right. Poor kid.

I have had many other experiences but they are too numerous to write about.

Are Christians protected from such things as others seeing their "auras" and such as that?

I knew a guy one time that tried to "read my aura" but he couldn't. He was talking with some other people and when I came up to the group he said he would be able to see me too. I thought it might have been God's protection around me.

I have had two experiances with angels that were lifechanging to me.
#1
I was pregnant with my daughter, my son was about 2 and a half. My husband asked me to take him in our Suburban to pick up his dump truck. During the whole trip the left front wheel was making an odd noise. My husband got out and checked it out and saw nothing wrong so he ok'ed me to continue driving. I followed him home after we got his truck and the noise continued the whole way. About 1/4 mile from our lane I had what can only be described as a vision. I was looking out of my own eyes and seeing from the living room into the kitchen. My husband was cooking a meal and my son ( in the vision was about 6 years old) was setting the table. There was another child standing in front of me talking to me. It was my daughter who I was still pregnant with at the time. In the vision she looked EXACTLY as she does today. At this time in the vision I realised that I was sitting in one of those motorized wheelchairs and I couldent move my body.

At this point I came out of the vision and pulled into our lane. About 10 feet into the lane the entire left front wheel fell off and went spinning out into the field. The truck dropped down onto the axel and drug for a long ways. My husband was in front of us in his dump truck and saw the whole thing. All we could do was sit and stare at each other for a several moments. At that time I 'heard' Someone say "Do you see what I could have allowed to happen to you!?! Now stop fooling around and get serious about Me....I have work for you to do!" :freaked Needless to say I got sanctified on the spot! ;): I realised at the time that it must have been angels holding the wheel on the whole trip.

I love that commercial with the 4 angels flying by the wheels of the car.

:D:

#2
My Dad was in the hospital dying. The day before he passed away my family came to see him for the last time. He was unconscious but we felt like he could still hear us. We began singing hymns and praying and praising God. The Spirit of God was such a presence in that room!! I was leaning against my Uncle who had his arm draped around my neck/shoulder. I then felt something like a curtain fall around my shoulder. I sort of jumped thinking that I had knocked something down. As this happened I felt the weight of a 'curtain' around my other shoulder as well. It was a very physical 'enveloping' feeling like as if I was draped in a cloak or curtain. I realised at that moment that an angel had come to comfort me. The physical presense was so real it was as if he had come in human form yet I couldent see it. No one else felt this or had the same experiance. I became so excited because I realised they were here to take Dad Home and they were allowing me to witness their presense. It was so comforting to know that we were handing him over to such loving hands. It made a sad experiance into an exciting time of praise. I really felt impressed that I shouldent spend too much time mourning because we wouldent be apart for long.

I'm not sure if he actually couldn't or it was to bright for him to even look at.

I had someone tell me once, and this guy was a witch, he told me not to go near him, because my aura was blinding him. As I thought about that, I remembered I had said a prayer before going to this place, and asked God to protect me.

The guy could not stand to look at me, it was really weird!!

We can't "see" heaven from earth, right?

When I was too close to evil my senses were on high alert and it seems like I could sense all kinds of things and they didn't always seem evil??? Sometimes drastically evil, sometimes benign. Like knowing that someone was coming to work early, etc.

I've had what I call a glimpse of heaven. Nothing visual at all, but in every sense I could find and check against the Bible, true. It IS glorious beyond our comprehension! :): I believe that this glimpse was the result of some wonderful prayer warriors in my life and this glimpse was God's great mercy to answer a question to bring me to peace about it.

God is amazing beyond any words that we could ever come up with to describe Him. :thumb

My aunt saw an angel. I don't recall the entire description, but she saw the wings coming up from behind the hospital bed and over her. She told me this after she had gotten a little better. (she had lung cancer)

There was also an incident where her daughter was driving past the cemetary where my grandpa was buried and "told him" that her mother was sick. Later on, when her daughter visited her, she asked who had told him she was sick?

I've had dreams that have seemed to come true before, and sensed things before they've happened. The only thing I can think of that was some kinda of physical manifestation of something was when I was a child and my cousin and I saw a cross in the sky.
Not some cross made by clouds or anything. It was a bright, solid form, like the moon and stars. It stayed in the same spot, and we were trying to figure out what it was, how it got there. We ran inside to try to get an adult to see it too, but none would come out. We got some chairs and just sat and stared at it. Finally, went in, and when we came back out it was gone.

There is an interesting book called "Spiritual House Cleaning" by Eddie and Alice Smith, which explains how Christians can unknowingly invite demonic spirits, etc. into their homes. I got rid of a lot of "knick-knacky" things after reading this. Sometimes even souvenirs from island trips can represent something evil--and you might not know it. Decorations can be astrological symbols, even rosaries (which show Jesus still on the cross, as opposed to having risen). I'm not saying they are right about everything, but it's worth thinking about.

Ive seen an angel! It wasn't like in the old/new testament where the prophet falls down on their face or anything, but I saw one. My experience was a bit different!
I had been working many many hours of overtime and was told that i had to be in the office the next morning very early. I was on the border or total exhaustion. I rushed home took care of business and went to bed.

before I fell asleep i said a prayer that I had to get up early, and really needed the help to do it! because I honestly didn't see how i was going to do it. And my job was on the line.

So, the next morning the alarm is going off and im reaching over to hit the "snooze". the second time I reached to turn it off again, something grabbed my arm. I pryed my eyes open and there is this face looking at me with really pretty blue eyes. It didn't scare me at all! I just casually looked at it, without any surprise.

He told me, "suanne-remember to wake up. wake up. you need to get up now." I just replied, "ok! im gettin up!" So I pretty much was grouchy you could say about being told to get up!

When I got to work and got my coffee, sat down, it finally dawned on me what had happened! I was in shock! The messenger that came to wake me up was so natural, so comfortable, that I treated him like a family member~im not grouchy to anyone, except maybe my family (which is a shame...) I just couldn't get over it. I dont know why i didn't realize it when it happened. I totally forgot until work. I got an angel for my alarm clock! I can still picture the face perfectly, and still see those blue eyes. not scary at all.

I promise it is true and wasn't a dream.

IMO, fallen angels and demons (spirits of a pre-Adamic or Anti-deluvian race) are two different creatures.

I've had six encounters with holy angels, five visually. The Lord sent them to encourage me due to the trials (spiritual testing) I had to go through. I've also had numerous encounters with evil spirits. Some of these were quite scary and bizarre.

The best advice, for a Believer, in dealing with the spirit world is to keep your eyes on Jesus Christ, avoid the occult and don't seek signs and wonders because the enemy is more than willing to deceive you.

I've had experiences, mostly within the last year, where I'll wake up feeling very scared and just repeating over and over, and remember doing so in my dream, that "Jesus is Lord." I don't remember anything about the dream except that I was being attacked and I was extremely scared, nothing else. Also, on a brighter side, I was driving down the road one day when all of a sudden every hair on my body just stood up and I felt "zinged" for lack of a better word; I was instantly alert. I heard clear as day through my head, "Something is wrong." Instantly, I turned off my music, gripped my steering wheel with both hands, and slowed way down. Well, about 2 miles down the road I felt my truck shift to the right and the next thing I knew I was plunging off the side of the road with dust and rocks going everywhere. My front right tire had just completely come off. I thank God I was driving slowing and had a firm grip on the steering wheel when that happened. I dread to think what would have happened had I not been prepared. Even though I didn't see them, I know that there were angels with me, protecting me.

I was a freshman in college and was attending a religious retreat with my best friend.

It was a wonderful weekend and on the last night, a member of the clergy came in our room to pray with us before bed. I don't recall the entire prayer, but I do remember him asking God to reveal himself to us.

That night, I awoke suddenly and as I opened my eyes, all I could see was a white, blinding light in front of me! It was incredibly bright, yet did not hurt my eyes. The light was so intense, and there appeared to be great sparks shooting out of it. I could also hear what appeared to be some kind of music coming from this light. It was not the same kind of music we are familiar with. There was no rhythm or beat to it. It was this amazing, beautiful sound that can't be articulated. More incredible than the light and sound I was experiencing, was the presence of our glorious Lord! Being in the presence of the Lord, I felt true PEACE, JOY and LOVE simultaneously.

When you're in the Lord's presence, it feels so natural and real. I remember sitting up for a few moments and could see all the other girls in the room. I laid back down and continued to look into the light. I didn't want to leave His presence, but was gently put back to sleep some time later.

I have had a few experiences but I never saw anything. I believe an angel hid my daughter's shoe which my sister, a friend, and I were all frantically looking for (we were late for a doctor's appointment) and we found it in plain sight on the table. The funny thing is that I had just been sitting there trying to calm down and not be so frustrated and it wasn't there then. We were 15 minutes late because of it. As we drove around a curve on the way to the doctor's office, there was a horrendous car accident and the police stopped me and told me to go a different way. He then said "If you had come by just 15 minutes ago, it would have been you dead in that crash." I still get chills just thinking about it.

There have been bad things too. In one house I lived in we heard a baby crying in the hallway, but couldn't hear it if you walked into a room. The toilet flushed by itself often in the middle of the night. Our cat would stare at nothing and then hiss. Weird stuff like that.

I think I can relate to what you said Secure In Him. Your experience sounds Glorious :thumb

My glimpse of home happened in my car. I didn't hear or see anything and time apparently stood still. I was traveling at 40mph + in the inside lane when it happened. If I would of lost time I may of veered into the other lane. Nope, stayed in the same lane at the same speed.

Anyway..... Here's it as best as I can describe it. I knew that Jesus was there. I knew that certain loved ones were also there. There was absolutely no concept or thought in my head of anything except heaven. No concept of earth at all. It was SO GLORIOUS. A peace that is truly beyond anything this world could try to describe it with. Like I said, I knew that Jesus was there. My entire aim was to get to Him. As soon as I concentrated on getting next to Him, I was back in my car.

There was no conception whatsoever of anything on earth. I found that incredibly peaceful. :): It didn't seem like there could be room for anything except heaven. It felt like peace enveloped every part of my being. Wow!

We are headed to a glory that nothing, nothing on this earth could ever come close to. :thumb

Everything we go through on earth will be worth it in heaven! :nod

I think my mom did once, when we were little. I was about 5, I think, and we were in this store that had an escalator. I was on the step in front of her as we were going down, and unbeknownst to me she somehow got one foot stuck in the escalator step. I think she was holding one of my brothers at the time. Just as she was about to fall, she felt someone grab her from behind and say, "Don't worry, I've got you". She couldn't turn around, but she said she got a glimpse of a very bright white shirt, or something like a shirt. This "man" held her until she reached the bottom, and when she turned around to thank him he was gone. I remember she asked me to look for a man wearing either a white or yellow shirt. I did, but I didn't see anyone.
