How do you deal with those nagging doubts about your savlation? Maybe I'm under a spiritual attack, becasue lately I've been getting scared of dying again (not that I've been completely free of this fear, but I was more at peach with the thought of death.) And worse, I keep imagining that once I die, what if I realize that I wasn't truly saved and ended up in hell? How do you "snap" out of this?
Thanks.

simple, see if you have Faith that Jesus is the Son of God who came to earth to die for your sins. Its either that is true or God is a liar, and we know that God cannot lie.

I'm praying for you right now, CRO. I would say that you are under a spiritual attack. Satan likes to have people doubting their faith so that we cannot grow. He wants to create a stagnant pool so that you cannot advance any more in your knowledge and faith of our Lord. I would pray fervently, get deep into His Word...read the Psalms...read Proverbs...read anything in there. I would also talk directly to whatever demonic spirit may be attempting to whisper such nonsense to you. Focus on what God has done for you...focus on Jesus, and His love...rejoice in your prayer and let Him know everything about these doubts...pray for strength and assurance.
Lewis Sperry Chafer once wrote:
Assurance is born of confidence in Christ. He has said: "Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." Having come, there is but one question remaining: "Has He cast me out?" This, it will be noted, is a serious question involving the very trust-worthiness of Christ. To doubt salvation at this point is not modest or commendable: it is the sin of distrusting God, or making Him untrue. Without faith it is impossible to please God. On the other hand, it is quite possible for one in facing this question to seal his confidence in God by a faithful "Amen" to every word God has spoken as to His plan and purpose in salvation. Who can look at the cross of Christ and not be convinced that God's love has been manifested toward us and that He Who paid such a price to redeem us will not instantly receive any soul that trusts in Him?
The word of Scripture becomes the title deed, or official writings, as to the certainty of the transaction. "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life." Such wonderful knowledge, therefore, is to be gained through the things written. The written things are His exceeding great and precious promises; but these promises can be of no avail to the heart that will not believe Him, or take Him at His word. Normal Christian experience and the joy and peace that results from believing can never even begin in the heart until God has been trusted to the extent that the record of His saving grace has been believed and received.

I was christned ( sprinkling of water ) in an Episcopalin church when I was little. We left and ended up Prebetyrians, the church I was saved in.
I thought salavation was fully accepting Christ as you saviour and allowing him into your heart-- does that mean I have to be Baptised or does the christning count?

Edit to add: I know I'm saved when it comes down to it, but sometimes when I think of when or if I die, I can't help but be scared, like this teeny part of me thinks "what if I wasn't?" I trust in the Lord with all my heart. I can't explain why this thought is creeping in my head, other than a spiritual attack. I'm gonna check out the link you posted and get more into God's Word. Thanks again for your prayers.

You're VERY welcome! I love to pray for my brothers and sisters. It's a blessing to me.
I know what you mean. Sometimes I sit back and think...IT'S TOO EASY!!! God's unmerited gift to us is just so stunning and marvelous...sometimes it's difficult to accept without putting our own strings on it.
Blitz, and Werner! You betcha! Enjoy those links...!!!
Okay, I need to go get an oil change...
Godspeed,

Let me contradict Hootmon and say that your "christening" was a Baptism. His church doesn't believe in infant baptism; mine does.
However, if you are not sure, feel free to undergo Baptism once again.

Uh-oh...
"[H]is church...." and "mine." Whose church is it? Sounds like another good thread (though I'm sure it's been debated before). Infant baptism is not Scriptural. GAB, if you would like to show your Biblical support for this denominational practice please proceed.
If I had been baptised as a child I would certainly be rebaptised when coming to faith. This isn't my parents' faith I have...it's my own. I have made that declaration. They made a declaration when I was a child to bring me up in the Word...and they did a fine job. But it all goes back to whether infant baptism is in any way whatsoever Biblically based. And I don't want to sound hostile, or mean, or anything like that. But the plain fact is that infant baptism is not Scriptural. Methodists do it...and I believe many in the Reformed Church do it.
The Methodist and Reformed are different denominations, not churches. I assume (perhaps naively) that both worship the same God, the same Son, the same Spirit...all three in one. But we need to go back to the Bible. That's where the proof is. That is to be our basis.
Godspeed,
Matthew

I remember very clearly when I first got saved I would doubt my salvation from time to time. I would be reminded of all the awful things I had done and wonder, Am I really saved? Well, after a while every time one of those thoughts would "pop" into my head (no doubt with a little help from Satan) I would say to myself...... "But Jesus forgave me" . It really helped. don't let Satan put fear into you. You know Satan figures if he can't stop you from getting saved he will try his best to damage your witness. Don't let him!!!
