Just a question, something I wondered about is all. Do we go to heaven when we die, or rest calmly in the earth until ressurection? Like sleeping, before you know it, you're awake? It seems the doctrine of heaven comes mainly from other sources, because the only place I have seen it in the Bible was Jesus telling the theif he will see him in paradise. I really don't know, the theology of the Presbetyrian Church ( to which I could soon become an offical member ), teaches about a direct afterlife. I'm not sure my view on it as the Bible is the final authority, not the church's doctrines. :confused

Please help?

Yours in Christ,
C.M

2 Corinthians 5:6-8

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Philippians 1:23-24

For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

When we die we are with Christ immediately. :D: :wave

Do we go to heaven when we die, or rest calmly in the earth until ressurection? I believe the answer to both is yes. I don't understand how that works. :confused We go to Heaven when we die but we all get there at the same time.
