Eternity:mind boggling?!?!?

Hi! I am a born again Christian and I love the Lord with all my heart. His love for me is so awesome and I can't believe how much he loves me. I have to admit thought lately I've been thinking about the whole eternity thing and it leaves me with a weird feeling. I'll be totally honest, it scares me! Living forever is so unfathomable!! Has anyone else ever felt this way? I'm definitely not saying I don't want to live forever, but I just can't comprehend it!
Also, I am the mother of 3 precious little boys and I've heard that in heaven we won't know each other in the same way, and I have to be honest and say that makes me sad. My family is so precious to me. Is this sinful for me to feel this way? I can't see how. God gave me my parents, sister, husband and children, so I can't imagine it's wrong to love them with all I have.
THere's just so much I don't understand about heaven.
Could anyone give me some insight. Please not just opinions.

Don't be sad. You'll love 'em more than you do even now. What's even better (for me) is that you'll love ME the same way! :thumb

And yes, when I let myself getz to thinkin' about eternity like that sometimes it boggles my mind as well and can seem a little scary.

We just have to trust that God will be able to keep us amused all that time...

I know how you feel. My mind cannot comprehend "forever and ever, eternities of eternities." I think about living forever without end, and it sometimes scares me, too. When I was a kid, I asked my sister what if I got bored in heaven, and she told me that God will make it to where I would never get bored. I believe that, I don't think anyone in heaven knows what boredom is. :):

Maybe you should do what I do: whenever you start to feel a little scared about eternity in heaven, think about how it's better than the alternative! That should make you feel less anxious. :):

A couple of years ago, my youngest son said to me,

"I bet it is gonna be really boring in heaven."


I ask him why he thought that and he said

"Cause there won't be any T.V.'s" :wacko

Gotta love what comes out of a 5 year olds mouth some times.

I think all of us have felt this way and/or still do. It is hard for us to comprehend.

Something that helps me to feel more at peace with eternity, is that , I feel that right now our thoughts come from the kind of time frame we live in. When we are in heaven, we will not have that kind of time frame, the time will probably not even be a thought.

Do you remember when you were first in love and you could never get enough time to spend with them? Days were way too short, and days away were way too long, and you never got enough of them?
How about that....never ending......because it will be a perfect setting......

There's no time in eternity. Time is simply an invention of God. We won't be limited by it. "One day is a thousand years to the Lord and a thousand years is as one day."

IMHO, we will have a much closer and purer relationship with our earthly family members and all of the Saints. We will have no sin nature to cause strife and misunderstandings.

my youngest boy who is 9 says it freaks him out to think of "forever"

I asked him why and he says he just dont get it..that it will never EVER end....he wants to know what we will do forever.

but like people said time wont be an issue there so it wont "freak" us out

and i LOVE the way one of you put it...like when you are first in love and the time is always not enough ..you want more and more...i truly think heaven will be this way.

and also..like someone else said..we will have such wonderful perfect relationships with all our loved ones and an eternity to love every believer...it is going to be awesome beyond words

to me just knowing no one i love will ever leave me NO GOODBYES EVER...and knowing JESUS is with me forever and ever
