Spoiler alert......
I think the way the author handled the AC's deception is absolutely brilliant. It's just like satan.....a little truth mixed with some super duper lies all rolled into an appealing, seductive package.
He almost had me convinced.

Apparently!
In a way, I like this series of books more than Left Behind.

Not to say I haven't enjoyed the LB series but these are better written and thought out in my opinion. I don't understand how he came to some of his conclusions (bodies left after the rapture?) and think LB did a better job with that.
But overall the characters are more believeable and I love the way he's explained some things. That description of the asteroids was incredible. I was keeping an eye on the sky that day!
I hate it that there's only one to go.

Sea Dreamer, you're absolutely right...right after Goodman was ressurected and started blaspheming God, it was amazing. I could feel the lie penetrating me! I mean, it did not convince me, but I could see how it could seem perfectly logical to a nonbeliever.
It's an awesome series. The asteroid part really got me. And how about the creaturesd from the Abyss? It was like something right out of a Stephen King novel...
I can't wait for the 3rd one. I wish Speilberg would make a movie of the series.

Exactly...the pull of it. It was so logical in a sneaky sort of way.
I once read an article by Shirley Maclain and she twisted scripture this same way. If you didn't know your bible it would be so convincing because the verse she was twisting appeared to say exactly what she was saying it meant.
Oh yeah, those creatures from the abyss--they'd slipped my mind when I was typing originally. The Christ Clone version made so much sense. The LB version seemed kind of tame for a bunch of demons freshly loosed to kill.

I loved the asteroid descriptions as well. Very cool! We only have a few weeks or so for part 3 right?

I've scrolled past all the possible 'spoiler' posts and merely wanted to chime in...
I too am in the middle of the second book and this series is breathtaking!
I haven't had the luxury of reading LB to compare it to but I'd have to think that it can't get much better than this.
I'll certainly look to post here once I finally finish this book myself - - hopefully, by the end of this week!
Talk to you soon!
