Of course He was... but just to show you how deceived some people are, I ran across this article about how Jesus was caucasion, and that God's people are the white people, and always have been... pretty scarey stuff... people actually believe this crap...

When the word is used in the Bible, it is referring to either a Judahite (a member of the tribe of Judah ... which Christ was), a resident of Judea, or a practitioner of judaism. Judaism came out of Babylon and those who returned to Jerusalem were Judahites and what was called in the Bible, 'a mixed multitude' (racial mongrels or half-breeds). These mongrels became the Pharisees, and Pharisaism became judaism. The Khazars adopted the religion of Judaism in 900 AD and have evolved as a racially mixed people who are the antithesis of White Christians. They have stolen the name of Israel and confused the identification of Jesus Christ. There is ample proof that Jesus was White upon further study.

Uhh.... sure.

Mat 1:2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

Mat 1:3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

Mat 1:4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

Mat 1:5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

Mat 1:6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Urias;

Mat 1:7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

Mat 1:8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

Mat 1:9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

Mat 1:10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

Mat 1:11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

Mat 1:12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

Mat 1:13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

Mat 1:14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

Mat 1:15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

Mat 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

Mat 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David [are] fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon [are] fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ [are] fourteen generations.

My parents used to live in Jamaica and Dad told me that the Rasta's believe Jesus is black. I thought he was kidding until I went there to visit our friends and we took a tour down the Martha Braie river. Our guide was a rasta that was very talkative and nice so I broached the subject of Jesus and sure enough he informed me that Jesus was black. I told him that the Bible says that he was a Middle Eastern Jew so he was middle brown, not black or white. I could see just for a second a :mad in his eye but he hid it quick. Of course then he went on to tell us exactly how to raise pot on your back porch :rolleyes .

Of course Jesus was born to a Jewish mother, but it is also imperative to note:

Acts 17:26
We are all of one blood

The Bible talks about this man or that man begetting someone.

Adam was the first begetter, and then in time there were Noah's three boys.

This is one of the major reasons for me that belief in a literal six day creation and the world wide flood is imperative.

It eliminates the basis for separation based on skin, or facial features, or languages, or even flags.

I heard a joke from a speaker on Answers In Genesis:

When I'm born I'm black.

When I grow up I'm black.

When I'm in the sun I'm black.

When I'm sick I'm black.

When I die I'm black.

You -

When you are born you're pink.

When you grow up you're white.

When you are in the sun you're red.

When you are sick you're green.

When you die you're blue.

And you call me colored?

I told him that the Bible says that he was a Middle Eastern Jew so he was middle brown, not black or white.

I'm gonna ask you this question: Does it really matter what shade Jesus was? Why did you feel compelled to tell this Rasta guy that Jesus was a medium brown? And how do you know that Jesus was a medium brown? There were/are Jews who are black, too.

I saw a site once that promoted that Britain and USA were the lost tribes of Israel and the real God's people. They had racist stuff all over it too. That is what this junk sounds like.

Oh brother. (from the same site)

This Internet outreach is dedicated to the vision of establishing a Christian foundation for the good news of the gospel of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ in the Pacific Northwest. The so called churches in this region, as elsewhere in the world, are corrupted with the trappings of jewish fables and false doctrines detrimental to the true Israel people of scripture; that is, the Anglo Saxon, Celtic, Scandinavian, Germanic and kindred peoples that comprise the twelve tribes, to whom the Holy Bible is exclusively about.

I've got a truth for them. The Bible is all about Jesus Christ.

"Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
I delight to do thy will. O my God: yea, thy law is is within my heart." Psalm 40:7-8

The vast majority of Israel natives are middle brown, as are the majority of people in the world. I have been to Israel several times and have never met anyone that is a native to the land any other color than middle brown. No the color of His skin doesent really matter, but it does matter that these people are trying to make him into something that he wasent, a black african man.

I think it is poignant that Jesus came to a people who's color can really cover the whole spectrum. Technically a family of middle brown people can have children who skin shades are very light to very dark. You cant get that with a white family or a black family. This has always highlighted to me how Jesus came to all of us even more.

Rastas try to use the Bible in their religion but they really twist it and trying to make Jesus a black African is just another example of this.

But he was a blond Jew... with blue eyes ... right?
:laugh I'm glad that I'm not the only one that has noticed this!

An article on where the different races (http://answersingenesis.org/Home/Area/AnswersBook/races18.asp) come from.

*the following is an article from a Rastafarian website, I will not post a link because of the drug culture involved. Note how in the beginning of the article they say how Africa is the birthplace of mankind (evolution!!) yet twords the end they say how much they study scripture. If you study this religion you will be appalled at how they skewer the very Word they say they hold so dear. We all are decendents of Noah and as such we all have our roots in Iraq, not Africa*
Rastafarinism
Rastafari is a movement of Black people who know Africa as the birthplace of Mankind and the throne of Emperor Haile Selassie I -- a 20th Century Manifestation of God who has lighted our pathway towards righteousness, and is therefore worthy of reverence.

The Rastafari movement grew out of the darkest depression that the descendants of African slaves in Jamaica have ever lived in -- the stink and crumbling shacks of zinc and cardboard that the tattered remnants of humanity built on the rotting garbage of the dreadful Dungle on Kingston's waterfront. Out of this filth and slime arose a sentiment so pure, so without anger, so full of love, the Philosophy of the Rastafari faith. Freedom of Spirit, Freedom from Slavery, and Freedom of Africa, was its cry.

Religions always reflect the social and geographical environment out of which they emerge, and Jamaican Rastafarianism is no exception: for example, the use of marijuana as a sacrament and aid to meditation is logical in a country where a particularly strain of 'herb' grows freely. Emerging out of the island of Jamaica in the later half of this century, the religious/political movement known as Rastafarianism has gained widespread exposure in the Western world.

Rasta, as it is more commonly called, has its roots in the teachings of Jamaican black nationalist Marcus Garvey, who in the 1930s preached a message of black self empowerment, and initiated the "Back to Africa" movement. Which called for all blacks to return to their ancestral home, and more specifically Ethiopia. He taught self reliance "at home and abroad" and advocated a "back to Africa" consciousness, awakening black pride and denouncing the white man’s eurocentric woldview, colonial indoctrination that caused blacks to feel shame for their African heritage. "Look to Africa", said Marcus Garvey in 1920, "when a black king shall be crowned, for the day of deliverance is at hand". Many thought the prophecy was fulfilled when in 1930, Ras Tafari, was crowned emperor Haile Selassie 1 of Ethiopia and proclaimed "King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and the conquering lion of the Tribe of Judah". Haile Selassie claimed to be a direct descendant of King David, the 225th ruler in an unbroken line of Ethiopian Kings from the time of Solomon and Sheba. He and his followers took great pride in being black and wanted to regain the black heritage that was lost by loosing faith and straying from the holy ways.

Rastafarians live a peaceful life, needing little material possessions and devote much time to contemplating the scriptures. They reject the white man's world, as the new age Babylon of greed and dishonesty. Proud and confident Rastas even though they are humble will stand up for their rights. Rastas let their hair grow natually into dreadlocks, in the image of the lion of Judah. Six out of ten Jamaicans are believed to be Rastafarians or Rastafarian sympathizers. The total following is believed to be over 1000 000 worldwide. 1975 to the present has been the period of the most phenomenal growth for the Rastafarian Movement. This growth is largely attributed to Bob Marley, reggae artist, and the worldwide acceptance of reggae as an avenue of Rastafarian self-expression. Marley became a prophet of Rastafarianism in 1975. The movement spread quickly in the Caribbean and was hugely attractive to the local black youths, many of whom saw it as an extension of their adolescent rebellion from school and parental authority. With it came some undesirable elements, but all true Rastas signify peace and pride and righteousness.

You reminded me of a time (about 10 years ago) when a friend and I were witnessing to a co-worker. When we mentioned Jesus was a Jew she got very mad and told us that when Christ was baptized by John the Baptist - he became a Catholic! She was very serious!!

When we told her there wasn't even a Catholic church at that time she told us she wouldn't talk about it anymore! It was very sad.

While I don't believe Jesus was blond hair and blue eyed, I think we should examine the question, "Was Jesus Jewish?"

A few points to the contrary:

1) The Bible says that we are saved by the Blood of God (Acts 20:28, Hebrews 9:14 etc.). It did not say we were saved by the blood of a Jew or a Gentile.

2) If Jesus was Jewish (from Mary), then how could He be the perfect, sinless Sacrifice? Humankind has been tainted since the Fall, but if we say that Mary "contributed" to Jesus' formation (in the womb via an egg) then we are basically saying that mankind had something to do with his own salvation. Can a clean thing come out of an unclean thing, Job asked (Job 14:4).

3) To contribute an egg, wouldn't Mary have to have some sort of a sensation? Then we have God involved in some kind of sexual affair. I think we can all agree that God would not be involved in something like that.

4) I cannot recall where Jesus ever referred to Mary as His "mother." In fact, He always referred to her as "woman." If she had a part in His birth, wouldn't He have called her "mother?"

I propose that Jesus was neither Jew nor Gentile, but God in flesh. Mary did not provide an egg - humankind had no "input" genetic or otherwise - but God created both the germ of life and the egg. Mary played the role of an incubator. Yes, she nurtured the body of Jesus (in the womb etc.) but she did not provide an egg for the creation of His natural body.

Food for thought....

God Bless,
Albernon
