Gather in the Name of the Dead?

Can Someone please point me to the Right Scripture where it says were not to Gather in the name of the Dead? I know I have read it before.

I know there is a verse that we are not allowed to speak to the dead. (I can't remember where just not). But I don't think there is a verse like that.
