Occassionaly I will read a passage in the bible or and inspired
question or answer on a thread, and it's like this light comes on and there is clarity. Like, even though I thought I understood it before, poof, all of a sudden it's as clear as day.
I get a particular joyful feeling when it involves the enduring truth of the bible made clear. Example:
Every believer will feel that the time will come in his/her generation.
Yet, you look back and cannot see why people who lived before us felt that way, because it seems there were still many things that had to happen before the end times came.
And still....It sure as heck looks certain that we are living in the end times now.
Do any of you have that kind of experience where you just go "wow" How could the truth be more obvious. How can non-believers not see this great neon sign of truth that's flashing in front of us all.
Then tomorrow....it's not quite as obvious anymore....and you just start searching and seeking again.......( yours in Christ)

I always think of Jesus telling his disciples that He had many things to say to them but that they could not bear it now. So, as we grow, when we read God's Word, it is fresh everyday, because slowly our blindness goes. I believe the more obedient we are to what we know to be truth, the more revelation of His word to us. Thus, I always say, Obedience begets understanding.
And in the same context, I believe, disobedience brings the veil back over truth, until, you deny or forget what you once thought was truth, and the sad part is, you don't even know it.
When you disobey, you lose the light you had, in undiscerning increments, but as you obey, the Word of God opens up to you. It's like a reward for obedience.

I feel your pain Joshua! I am fairly new to RR, and suddenly everything I thought I understood about the bible is being challenged. I guess though, it is a good thing. Every new post sends me running for my bible, and wishing that mundane tasks such as eating and laundry would stop taking up so much of my time. :):

I view it as a good thing though. Once you read and reread the scriptures, debate your views and weigh them against the views of others, and of course, pray for the Holy Spirit to grant you wisdom and understanding...well, then I think you will stand on a pretty solid foundation.

That's what I am praying for myself! :):
