I never know where to put these threads, but anyhow move if need to.
I was telling my husband that I wanted to save up and get a Strongs, so I could see the Greek and Hebrew while studing the Bible. He said he thought he had got a book years ago, and went looking. He found a The Zondervan Parallel New Testament in Greek and English. I was just wondering if anyone knows this book, and if it is a good one. I have heard about Strongs, but not familar with this one. Can anyone tell me about this book?
Thanks for your help.

akleah,

Me too, but since we had this one stored away for years, and I didn't even know that my husband had got it, I am just happy to have it. As long as it is ok, well you know what I mean. If it is a true and good parallel.
My husband wasn't a Christian when we first met, but he excepted Christ as his Lord and Savoiur before we married. He was raise Catholic, and hated church. I was raised Baptist, and Loved the Lord. Once he saw the love of the Lord going to church with me, and understood he could have a personnel relationship with Christ, well the rest is history. After he became a Christian he got into learning more about GOD, the bible and everything. He got so many books and stuff to help, somehow I messed knowing he had gotten this one.

Thanks for answering my question!!!!!!!!!:):

I may be mistaken S&H, but the best way to use a Strongs Concordance is with a KJV, or a NKJV... simply because of the wording. Obviously if you're looking for a particular word, it wont do any good to look it up in the Strongs if the version you're using doesnt even use the word. Just a heads up.

Personally, I believe the KJV and the NKJV are far superior versions over the modern versions anyway, based upon the underlying greek text.... but I dont wish to head this thread off into that direction. There are plenty of other threads dealing with this issue.

I recommend a NKJV that uses the Strong's numbering system.

My Strong's works only with the KJV - usually I can use the New KJV, but once in a while, gotta get the old English one :laugh

:thumb Thank You all so much. Yes, I am a KJV person. That is what I was raised on so I understand it better. My husband has a Thompson, and I got my son NIV, because he had trouble understanding the KJV. At the time I didn't know if there was a NKJV, but I check and explain if I think the version has left out important things. That is the main problem I have with some other versions, I feel they don't give the whole picture, but I could be wrong.

Thanks Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
