Everyday, my husband and I eat lunch at the local senior center.
Given we're both new to retirement and new to the senior center, we're still getting to know everyone.
We've got a "character" who sits at the table with us who is very loud and boisterous. He made a comment last week about my ethnicity and I confronted him. The previous week he made no bones about the fact that he didn't like blacks. However, he used the "N" word.
I found it totally offensive, so when he made a comment about my ethnicity I felt compelled to say that was "ugly".
Today, he found it necessary to be a "wise guy" again. My husband was simmering and has thus far not said anything.
Given we are Christians, as most of us are at the Center, I don't want to make waves, but feel the need to set a boundary. Any comments on this "ugly" situation?
