This ight not be the right to post this question or not.

I am just wondering what is the right way we are to worship the Lord?

I talk to God at various times. Not everyday like I should.:(:

But I am wondering if just talking to God is worship?

I try to worship God w/my life. Thru obedience to His Word, and following His will... and denying myself. Paul calls us living sacrifices, and that is what that means. Dying to myself, and giving it all up for Him. Until we do that... raising hands, reading the Bible, singing, whatever (all of which are good things!)... is nothing but noise and clammor to God. I see people all the time who make a big show of "worship", and then I see them during the week treat their employees or families etc etc like crap. If we are not daily sacrificing ourselves to God... all the worship in the world is worthless.

What an awesome question to think about!!

This might be nonBiblical (Ants will straighten me out if it is :D: ) but I believe worship is any act we do in faith, to honor and glorify the Father. It could be smiling at a stranger, responding kindly when confronted with anger, or lifting your hands to Him in praise. Singing too, listening to worshipful music, my spirit often is lifted up to God and seeking Him.

Maybe obedience isn't exactly the same as worship, but sometimes it can feel like worship (depends on the heart's posture?!)

I never thought of prayer as worship before, or even leading a godly life. Guess I always thought of them as something we just "do", so to speak.

The main way I worship is through music. Be it singing, or dancing, or simply raising my hands to the Lord in praise.

AlthoughI have written letters of praise to God before. Kind of like a diary. It's really neat when you find them a few years later and read over all God has done for you. :):

I will have to say that dancing is my favorite form of worship. I can't wait to meed King David and see if he can show me some new moves. ;):

To me worship is what we do when we show Him how much we love him. I like to put on my favorite praise music and sing and dance. I will also just sit quietly and really think on just who God is and what he has done for his creation. That always fills me with such wonder and awe.

I will also spend time thanking him for all he does that I know about and all he does that I never know about.

In this life it is easy to get discouraged by the many trials we have to go through. but God is so big and yet so easlily available to us that I like to spend time dwelling on his goodness, mercy, grace and love.

John 4:19-24
"Sir," the woman said, "I can see that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem."
Jesus declared, "Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

Romans 12:1
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship.

What does it mean in laymans terms though?

Am I worshipping when I talk to God and ackowledge Him as the Almighty and my Savior?
Or is worshipping something else?
:confused
