1st time - 20 and it failed because we (especially I) had no idea how to give to a person of the opposite sex and eventually, those hormones that were so strong at 20, werent enough to keep the marriage together. And back then, my "faith" was questionable at best.
2nd time - 28 and it failed after two years when she left me for her 6th affair. One important thing when you get married, make sure your spouse has stopped dating!! Silly me for assuming that!

I was barely 20 y/o...was waayyyy too young and immature to be getting married...he was 26 y/o.....he was waaayyyy too irresponsible to be getting married...bad choice there...it lasted 9 years...most were horrific....
I was 32 y/o the second time...it's been almost 4 years now...(he was also 32 y/o)...and things are great...this is a partnership and a lot of give-and-take...although our marriage is not perfect and there are some things that need work...I am very happy with it and we have a good marriage...we have been blessed despite a number of odds...

I was 18 and he was 19. He was stationed in England, and I was stationed in Greece for our first year of marriage. We almost got divorced, but decided to give it another chance. We just celebrated our 18th anniversary.
Our marriage was pretty good to begin with, but after both of us accepted Jesus as our Savior, our marriage has improved a 1000%.
I feel as if I've re-discovered my best friend who I had lost contact with.

We were 28. First time for both.
We were also told that "Even though you are both so old you probably won't have children, you'll have lots of good years together." :confused
We had 3 kids in 5 years :rofl
Together 12 years. Just keeps getting better and better. But we do wish we'd met earlier, would probably have had a bigger family! :pound

We got married (only time) 2 weeks before my 25th birthday. DH was 26. We've been married 9 years. Neither of us would have been ready for marriage sooner, we needed to mature. Plus, we both had already graduated college, lived on our own, and had ideas about what we wanted and didn't want in a future spouse. However, it's different for everyone--my parents married at 19 after 2 months of dating and were happily married 34 years before my Dad died last year.

I really do not think it is the age that matters, it is how close the man and woman are to God. Notice how I said man and woman, because God does not honor same sex marriage. My mother and father got married at 20 & 18. They have been married 35 years.

Enlightened has us beat, too, but not by much! I was 18 and DH was 22. We celebrated #32 this past June! Like many have said, it just keeps getting better and better. BTW, there are 3 of us involved in this marriage, me, DH, and Jesus! We have been blessed with a DS and a DD. DS has been blessed with a DS and a DD. Our DD gets married this January. She's 28 and FSIL is 38. Both have never been married before and both are missionaries and met on the mission field. They will serve our Lord together.

I would like to add that I never dated anyone other than DH. The first time I saw him I knew I would marry him one day. We were childhood sweethearts when he went into the military we were seperated for 3 years....but we stayed in touch through letters (I wrote him almost every day..he wrote twice a week). We wanted to make sure that our marriage would last, so when he came home we waited 6 months before we were married.
And I wore "White" at my wedding :nod ;):
The point I'm trying to make is, I didn't just happen to see him...God arranged that part, the rest was up to us to accept or reject. Today when we look at our grandchildren we say.. "Oh what a wonderful God we serve. With Him all things are possible."

(((Purple Kitten))) ...don't give up. My cousin was over 30 when she got married. She's been married for 37 years now. My daughter best friend didn't marry until she was 33 years old. My own daughter is 29 and she isn't married yet. Now all these ladies had/have the same situation...they were/are waiting upon the Lord to bring the right person into their lives.
God has a plan and purpose for each and every life.
I was very young when the Lord brought me face to face with my future...others within my family were older. A few were called to do other things with their lives..marriage not being one of them.
My favorite verse is - Psalms 118:24 "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." I have it written out and placed above my computer, so that I am reminded that whatever happens the Lord is in control.
Praying that the Lord will bless you abundantly and bring you peace. :angel

Don't worry about that! I met DH when I was 25 ... just met, did nto go out ... and weirdly enough, I didn't have another date until HE asked me out 2 years later. (Due to work issues ...) We got married when we were 28.
It's kinda funny .... people who were married at 18 or 19 were consistenly told they were too young (if they married in the 1980s or later ...) and people who married at 28, 30 or older were told they were kinda old.
So according to our society ... there's NO ideal age to get married! (Depends on the peeps involved ...)
So ... don't worry about it ... don't compromise your values ... and don't let anyone think you are desparate. Stay happy, busy, involved and connected even if it kills you! Be friends with everyone ... some little old lady at church might have a single grandson in another state, you know :nod

PS ... during my single years I had a 3-legged cat with mental problems :twitch ... I might have made a very BAD marriage if I didn't have that cat to worry about!
