Why Do Some People Think Good Morality of The Past Is Now Outdated?

They think good morality of the past is outdated for the times we live in now yet they hate what bad morality brings to society. They can’t have it both ways. Either they want good Biblical principles as a guideline for a persons life or they have to accept the negative outcome of immorality in society.

Why do some people think good morality is now outdated but at the same time they are fearful of the negative impact of bad morality on society? :rolleyes :twitch :tsk

problem is they want "good" morality APART from the bible. They want to rely on man's efforts apart from God really. We will have no King to "rule over us".......God and His Word. Is what they are saying.......

As a former agnostic, I think I can tell you why:
Because a lot of bad morality of the past is now outdated. We've figured out that slavery is wrong, that women are people too, and countless other things that were considered "right" a long time ago.
It's arguable, but there are probably just as many aspects of morality that have not changed as ones that have, so it's natural for a person to assume that our current ideas of morality are probably wrong somehow as well.

well i would say it is pretty clear why. especially in the usa. we seem to have this idea in america that our new liberal ideas are good morals and that the morals expressed inthe bible are just plain wrong and even evil when in fact the opposite is the case.

i think the biggest ways these manifest today is 1) with woman- the bible tells us woman was made to be a help mate for man, that man is our head, that we are to be modest and godly, to not be contentious or revilers, to keep our house and teach our kids and submit to our husbands happily. to be chaste to not be fornicators to save sex for marriage. we are told in church not to usurp authoirty we are even told that if we make a vow and our husband or fathers hears it that same day and disallows us that we cannot keep the vow but if they do not disallow it we must.

the world and polictial correctness says- women are the same as men, can and should do the same things, being pregant and a mother and wife are bringing us down and are bad so instead we should have reckless sex and be called " empowered" and then kill the baby and claim your rights and if you mess up and marry dont honor your husband or obey or submit or clean his house or love him but just get money and cheat when the sex isnt good and get a job and want everything equal and use sex to get what u want and if u wanna lead then u start your own church and teach the bible is outdated etc....

the bible says homosexuality is an abomination as well as witchcraft adultary etc
the word says praise the homosexual and the witch who arent afraid to be who they are! and praise the adulterer who broke vows to be selfish!



its the same ole same ole, flesh fighting agasint the truth and truth agasint the word. and sadly many claiming to be christians are working in the flesh and fighting with the world agasint the morals of the bible :cry
