I have a question that has been gnawing at me ever since I've come here. Please keep in mind I'm a newbie and am full of "strange questions".So here goes...
Before I came here, I always assumed that people who have died have automatically gone to "Heaven"....(If they were Christians) Now...I'm wondering if their souls are in limbo until the "Glorious Appearing".Can someone please explain this to me...in simple english ...please!:):
Thanks a bunch,
Tracey

The catch is that "simple english" part. The problem is eternity vs linear time. We are bound by our minds to linear time, but heaven is in eternity. When we die, we are no longer of this world and therefore no longer bound by linear time. We are in Heaven with god, which means in eternity.
What this means is to us on the earth, the thief on the cross is still in the grave awaiting the rapture and day of the Lord. But when he died, he left the bounds of time behind. Instantly to him was the day of the Lord and that day he WAS in paradise. But linear time still progresses here and we are still stuck truely unable to fully comprehend eternity.
This means that yes, when we die we are instantly in heaven. But until we die, we are stuck here waiting on time to end.
Clear as mud...

Sweets,
Here is what I believe.
When we die our bodies(christians) go to the grave until the rapture. While our spirits go to be with Jesus in heaven.
