Since the worldliness in Christian music thread is now 8 pages full of debate how about we simply post some artists we believe to be fully devoted to Christ!
Currently, I still pretty much listen to the older stuff but would love to hear who you all believe is worth a purchase now.
I prefer BLANTNTLY "Christ centered" lyrics but I certainly don't mind different musical styles and beats.
Here is who I enjoy ost right now (remember I said it's older)
-Steven Curtis Chapman: I didn't care for his last album, but I am not calling it un-Christian.
-Carman: I don't agree with all of his theology but his music without a doubt touches me. Especially his praise music.
-Degarmo and Key: Loved their early stuff. Their greatest hits album is great!
-DC Talk: Especially their older stuff! I didn't care for ANY of their singles albums.
-Jennifer Knapp
-Jenni Varnadeau
-John Ruben- LOVE his first album! Don't care much for the second one.
One of my all time favorites was White Cross! Heavy Metal music but BLATENT Christ centered lyrics. "Because of Jesus" is a great song! I would love to find music like that!
Thoughts?

I'm different, I know, but I'm a choir person. Brooklyn tabernacle choir is my favorite. They are so anointed. I hear you get into that choir based on testimony alone, not on how you sing.

Rebecca St James tops my list.
She's single and talks about abstinance and is definitly very close to G-d. She has several "break up" segments in her concerts where she reads scripture and prays for the people there.
Paul Wilbur - Messianic Artist, very "on fire"
Lenny and Varda- Also Messianic Artists, quite giddy at times- but quite "on fire"..
"point of grace" = Married Christian women singer's.. on fire, and haven't changed their ideals since the beginning.

Hello,
Michael W. Smith's Worship and Worship Again and other music from him but I don't own those albums
Rich Mullins especially the songs Awesome God and Step By Step
Lincoln Brewster especially the album Amazed
Steve Bell's album Beyond a Shadow (he is a Canadian artist, I have not seen his albums anywhere I have looked near my home; I have ordered his music on eBay)
But, most of the music I listen to is praise and worship. It settles my soul and reminds me where my focus should be!!

I'll vote for Amy Grant....just kidding Houseparent.
Lately I've been listening to Michael W Smith, Adaryll Jordan (local sax artist), many of the WOW compilation CDs and FFH. I also love Randy Travis' latest. Very country but with Christian lyrics. Worth a listen.

I don't really listen to Christian radio any more, but when I did I liked:
Michael Card - good message
Steve Green - beautiful voice
Occasionally I pick up a station that plays "old-fashioned" sacred music and that is very enjoyable.

How do those bands compare to them?
I cannot stand Demon Slayer. Are any of them like them at all?
I don't mind metal music but it has to be MUSIC.

I have heard of white cross, but not heard them. I do like some 80's style/white/glam metal, like Holy Soldier.
Demon Slayer??? You mean Demon Hunter? :confused
Demon Hunter is ok, but too "Nu-metally" for me, way too much like a slipknot rip off. I like mostly thrash (ie Metallica, Slayer type), and Goth or Gothic influenced melodic metal, and Black metal

Keith Green ... if you want to hear the unadulterated Word of God thru music, then that is who I would highly recommend. He truly lived the life of a believer, and held to a no-compromise position on holiness and faith. He died in 1982 in a plane crash at the age of 28, but his music and his teachings live on even today.

While "elsewhere" we have decried those Christians in the limelight who have not represented us well, I am ECSTATIC to relate these fine artist whose walks are tremendous witnesses to the world.
Rich Mullins
Keith Green
Michael Card
I, personally, love to listen to Michael Card. He puts the words of God to music, instead of popularizing experiential "God-like" feelings.
I love all of his albums....particularly "Joy in the Journey".
He even has an "End Times" album with the Book of Revelation put to music. AWESOME!
Isn't it wonderful that there are still so many songs being written to truly worship, praise and honor Our Lord?

Houseparent,
This is off topic, but, I will place it here to clarify my attempt at humor. However, I will remove the post from your "Good Artist" thread if you like. :freaked
Beyond the attempt at humor and more to my point I could not think of any "Good Artist" to post here. Sorry. There are a lot of good songs and music though.
Why Good things Happen to Bad People (http://www.leaderu.com/truth/1truth29.html)
And, unfortunately, Kushner tends to caricature or misconceive the basic teachings and insights of the Judeo-Christian tradition. For instance, he denies man's innate will to evil (none of us are "good people"), he rejects the relevance of the after-life in resolving the dilemma of death and he views prayer in reductionist terms (it is useful only in awakening a sense of community and in helping us tap our own hidden reserves). While we deplore such grave oversights we cannot but empathize with the anguish that moved him to write this book. Like him, we will find the callous attitude to tragedy taken by some religious believers inexcusable. Above all, Kushner's book seems to be a plea for divine consolation: he is terrified by the thought of a God Who does not care, Who is unmoved by human suffering: he strips God of omnipotence and omniscience so that he can continue to believe in God's love. It is here that the Good News is most relevant: it is a revelation of "God with us," of Jesus "who will save his people from their sins," of a Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep

Can't believe no one has mentioned Petra yet!
They have been committed to ministry for over 30 years now, through popularity and downturns. Most bands would have broken up if they faced what Petra did in the last few years, but they stayed together because they believed God still has a plan for them.
Their new album, "Jekyll & Hyde", released in August, is absolutely awesome! It's their first real rocker in about a decade, and the sound and lyrics are both topnotch. The title track is about the internal struggle described in Romans 7. There's also "Life As We Know It" which describes the life we have in Christ. Every Christian who's struggling or tempted should listen to that song as a reminder. Then there's a cool praise song ("I Will Seek You") and a challenge to boldly complete the Great Commission ("Sacred Trust").
They have many great older albums too. I especially like the ones from the late 80s -- Back To The Street, This Means War, and On Fire.

Christian song parodies?! Whaaaa...? ApologetiX cites scriptures often and has some good stuff. I especially love "The Real Sin Savior," a parody of "The Real Slim Shady" by Eminem. Good times.

I really don't know much about the people in the group, but I love to listen to Newsong's stuff.
Stephen Curtis Chapman's Dive is what got my family started on CCM.
We also like a lot of Avalon's stuff.
There are a lot of others, but I can't remember them all this time of the morning.
