Praying and singing in the spirit is in unknown tongues to man, unless he has the gift of interpretation.
I have been so overcome with the Holy Spirit's presense that I have spoken and sung in tongues. It is a very powerful experience. It feels like you are in the Throne Room of the Most High! And you are definitely on your best high ever!
There is nothing better than to be HIGH on the Most High!:thumb
edited to add: Many people can be 'overcome' by the presense of the Holy Spirit and don't ever speak or sing in tongues. Just wanted to share that view. We all have different gifts that are equally important to the Father.;):

Yes, it is an awesome experience. It has only happened a couple of times in my life.
But, what I want to stress is that a person can be in church or even at home alone and still get that HS high by singing and worshiping in our earthly tongues.:thumb
I get so caught up with praise and worship to the Father, that it seems as nothing else doesn't even exist and time stands still. It is hard to explain...it is the most beautiful feeling there ever is.
It is like a taste of heaven!

I don't personally believe that praying in the Spirit means only praying in tongues. I believe that when we pray, when we open our hearts to the Lord in our prayers, that the Spirit is a part of our union with God. That to me is praying in the Spirit.
Here are a couple of verses.
Romans 8
26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
Ephesians 6
17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Jude 1
19These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
20But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. 21Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
