View Full Version : Juanita Bynum... What a preacher!!!

A co-worker of mine loaned me an audio tape of the preachings of Juanita Bynum. She asked me the next day "What did you think of the tape"? (Something like that)

I told her that "Juanita is something else".

My question, can anyone give me information about Juanita Bynum? Who is she, what is she all about? What's the scoop?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I did a Google search since I have never heard of her. The phrase " 'prophetess' Juanita Bynum" shows up regularly. I'm trying real hard not to be unfair but that phrase raises all kinds of red flags to me.

I would like to hear what everybody else has to say on this.

She's WOF, connected to T.D. Jakes. From what I've heard she has great stuff for women, especially women who have dealt with sexual issues but since she's WOF, I stay away from her.

Maybe you can give your friend a copy of Hank Hanegraaff's Christianity in Crisis.

(Hank is not perfect, but its better than the prophetess).
continue to learn so that you can be better grounded.
This is your chance to open the eyes of another.

You could always print out some of the discussions here about
WOF.

On July 15th 2003 at approximately 2.45am a coach left Milton Keynes bound for Heathrow airport. This would be the first leg of a journey that would eventually bring the 22 ladies on board to Houston, Texas.

Why Houston? Because this was to be the venue for “Woman Thou Art Loose 2003”, the world renowned annual conference hosted by Bishop T.D. Jakes.

The purpose of the conference is to empower and liberate women from every nation with the knowledge that by faith in Jesus Christ we can rise above every situation that we may face and live victorious lives

The conference which lasted 2.5 days involved many guest speakers including Joyce Meyers, Paula White, Dr. Ernestine Reams, Bridgette Hilliard and a last minute addition of Juanita Bynum.

A red flag SHOULD go up. I listen to Hank as well although he is not pre-trib he is a brother in Christ and he really knows his Bible. He has some very scary words about her. I would listen to him about the cults.

Juanita IS something.

The first time I ever saw her, she was singing (I had no idea that she preached; I assumed she was the "talent portion" of someone else's show). One thing I have to say is that *that woman can sing... I haven't seen her do it lately, but she has a fantastic, soulful voice (she could have had a record deal in the secular world if she had tried it).

So, after hearing her for a little while, I had to change the station. But I remembered her - so I deliberately tried to catch her again. Well, that's when I found out that she's a preacher... and it's also when I found out that she has a special white scarf that she ties around her neck before she gives a prophecy or says something in tongues.

She tied that thing on her neck, started talking so fast I could hardly follow her - and everyone around the room started dropping to the floor. Pretty soon, she was chanting something and sweating bullets - and practically the entire group was on the floor as if they had fainted.

Yes she did. I saw it last year on TBN (this was well before I found out about WOF and their heretical teachings), it ran on an episode of "Praise The Lord". I thought it was tacky myself. Juanita's wedding was held at some ritzy hotel in New York. PTL had people hosting from the wedding, so they were describing the decorations, Juanita's dress, and the fact that she wanted to make her entrance through the eastern door :rolleyes

The first time I saw Juanita was when she was hosting an episode of PTL. I didn't like her immediately, couldn't put my finger on it, but knew part of it had something to do with her calling herself "Prophetess Juanita Bynum".

I watched her show a couple of times and could never sit through it. She either was constantly speaking in tongues or was shouting. I could never understand what message she was trying to preach, though I did observe her say one time, while speaking in tongues, say "The Lord says 'You will not harm my prophet' " :freaked

Since she is also WOF, I would advise the same thing: stay as far away from her as possible.

Billiefan - you should know that's who it was.
With you being on top of the media and "celebrities" and such.

Now why did you bump an ancient topic back up? :hrm

I know who she is,I was wondering if other people knew about the wedding from last year.

It was tacky CHRIST ROCKS ON and what gets me is how the Christian Community can still support her after that incident is beyond me.

She is NOT speaking in tongues.

She starts "preaching" and then gets louder and faster until she is completely babbling, and making gutteral noises.

She does this out of nowhere and becomes enflamed and looks completely rediculous.

SHe is confusion personified. And edifies herself, trying to "look" religious.

She is faking the tongues, that much is for sure. And she has no one interpret. A fake, worse than Binny Hinn.

She loves her eartly treasure more than Joyce Meyer. Check out that treasure on her finger.

It is easy to see she loves money and spending it on herself.

Carlosabc,
Remembering a large discussion with you many, many, months ago about women preachers/teachers.

I must ask, is this a baited question?

Because if memory serves me correct you are totally against women speaking at church rather than "hello, good bye and Praise the Lord" :D: Correct me if I am of the wrong opinion.

So I am having a difficult time in coming to the belief you actually listened to this tape, not saying you didn't though. Because if you said you did, then you did............just curious what changed???????????:confused :confused :confused

What really irked me was that her wedding was ran on their Praise The Lord show. I thought the show was supposed to be about praising God, not called the Juanita Bynum show (as she is a constant host on that show as well.)

I also wondered if she really is speaking in tongues, but I don't want to be quick to assume that it's phony, though I noticed that whenever she spoke it, she always seems to say the same thing.

Joyous_n_Jesus-

I actually listened to a tape by Juanita Bynum. A co-worker of mine loaned me her audio tape of her preachings.

I'm not in the business of offending, but what I heard was amazing. Not in line with scripture, unbiblical, somewhat blasphemous, unbecoming of a woman the way she yells, shouts and screams. This is just a short discription of what I heard

I didn't even mention the content which is even more shocking.

By the way the tape was loaned to me by a co-worker of mine who is an ordained woman pastor of her own church.
Even she has issues with Juanita Bynum. We talked about that.

If this woman pastor I work with has issues with Juanita, what does that say about Juanita?

If you lived back in the days of WWII and heard of a violent movie, then you hear the opinion of Adolf Hitler saying

"Yes, this movie is really voilent and evil."

If you heard this man say that, what does that say about that movie? Just an example.

This is from her website...

FAVORITE HOBBY AND PASTIME: "I love classical music. I have stacks and stacks of it!"

That, to me, raises a HUGE red flag!
