My daughter is in 3rd grade and was just presented with a Bible at church. She is in a Bible Study also. She was asking why Song of Solomon was called Song of Songs in her bible and Song of Solomon in my Bible. She also has tabs for all the books of the Bible and the tabs say Song of Solomon. So I told her I would as you all why Song of Solomon is Song of Songs in some Bibles.

I have also seen Song of Songs as well as Song of Solomon. Maybe some people questioned who actually wrote the book so they took Solomon out and changed it to Songs? (Just a guess). I'm curious to see what everyone has to say...

It is a translation thing.

KJV uses one
NKJV uses another.

Kinda like "Thou shalt not" vs "You sall not"

As an intersting historical not about the book, it was a Jewish custom because of the subject matter that boys were not allowed to read that book until they were 13.

If I remember right, in the Tanakh (OT) It's listed as Song of Songs and noted that it was written by Solomon.

It's traditional for it to be read at a Jewish/Messianic wedding :D:
