What would God want you to do, flunk out?

Keep up your school studies but keeping in mind that Christ is first. Keep studying the Word too, capitalize "I" in I'd too.

I admire your desire to be in the Word of God, however I would say that yes, you're a little out of balance. Doing the best at whatever your job or schooling is is a very godly thing. The Bible exhorts us to do everything we do unto the Lord. If we ignore our school work, or do a poor job at our place of employment because we'd rather read God's Word, then that isnt very honoring to the Lord. It also taints our reputations as believers. Christians should be the top students and the best employees around.

The Apostle Paul had a secular job. When he came to a city in order to teach and minister to the local churches there, he applied his craft (tent making) in order to support himself so that he would not be a financial burden to the churches there. (An example that many pastors today should heed!! IMHO)

So you need to find the balance between school and the Word. Instead of watching TV or doing some other worthless thing, why need use that time to be in the Word. I'm sure if you try you will find many areas in your life you could cut out and set aside for God other than school.

A few verses to complement Krispy's comments:

I Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

I Thessalonians 4:11-12 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

Ephesians 6:5-7 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men

This is great that you have such a desire for God's word and for talking with Him, but... remember... Everything you do, do so as if for Jesus. It would be a bad witness if you get poor grades because you're not doing your schoolwork. This could be a problem situation at work also...if a person read their Bible or surfed the net forChristian sites at work rather than DO the work they're being paid for... it seems to me like that would be a bad witness.

There's nothing wrong with praying all day in your mind, we are to pray without ceasing, right? But, make sure there's still some attention left to be about God's work where you are. :):
