God has opened a door so that I may witness to a fellow coworker. The gentleman is about 30 years old, from a Jewish family and very, very secular in thinking and actions. He mentioned in a casual conversation that he did not believe there was any life after death and if someone could prove to him that there was indeed somthing beyond the grave he would listen. This is a golden opportunity to witness but an atypical door to enter - what are everyone's thoughts on how to approach this.
Thanks ahead of time!!!

I would start praying first. Ask the Lord for strength and wisdom and I pray for their salvation.
When I am witnessing to someone, I don't just start in right away. Build a relationship with this person first and then see if there is a door open. If you are praying, God will open the door for you.
JMHO. It's a start anyways.

This is how I would do it. The Bible is full of prophecies and many of them have been fulfilled. In the book of Isaiah, there is a prophecy that tells that Jesus would be born of a virgin. (Isaiah 7:14) Isaiah was told 600 years before the event took place that this was going to happen. The same book that tells us that Jesus would be born also tells us that Jesus is coming back for the Christians. (1 Thess. 5: 13-17) When you present these prophecies you are proving that the Bible is true and can be believed.
Second, the Bible speaks of a spiritual death and spiritual life. There is a hell and there is a heaven. You should either write down verses from the Bible or memorize them. Also, it is helpful to keep a small Bible in your desk.
Third, since you are speaking to a Jew, in the beginning you need to pull verses from the Old Testament because unsaved Jews think Jesus was just a mortal man.
Study Gal. 3:24-29, 1 Cor. 15:45-49, 1 Cor. 17-20

Show him the prophecies, as well as the Law of Moses (the Ten Commandments), and his need for the Messiah.

I appreciate everyone's input and please keep the suggestions coming. Even though the gentleman is from Jewish background I would doubt that he has attended synagogue since he was a child. He is also focused on life after death - which means that he is absolutely concerned about his own mortality.
More input please..........

Pray that the Holy Spirit gives you the proper words to say before you speak to him. That can do a world of good.
Other than that, Jesus returned from the dead and was seen by eyewitnesses. He showed Himself to prove that there is a life after death with God.

A few books come to mind, like "The God who is there" or "He is there and He is not Silent" - both by Francis Schaeffer or "Who rolled away the Stone" by Frank Morison... I am not sure if they are the right books for him, but just in case...
