Hi and welcome!!! Your ID caught my attention... Do you make dolls?

Yes Dollmaker,

Us girls would like to know what kind of dolls you make- if you would like to share. My grandmother used to make dolls and really beautiful dresses for them too. Sometimes, she would find really old dolls and repair them, the dresses she would make, they were oh' so pretty. She got so much enjoyment from her loving hobby (and lots of people enjoyed her creations as well.)

I've been interested in making a little cloth dolly for my daughter, Amish style, not sure how to go about it.

Anyway, nice memories :):

Welcome to you Dollmaker;

You must be a very creative person! My sister also carves dolls, she does likenesses, and Santa Claus, things like that. What is the 'Dollfan'?

Good to have you with us. :thumb -D

Hi Kristina and D'Light!
Yes, I remember viewing your name Kristina on Doll Fan.
I don't post too often there because I am so busy:)
My name on Doll Fan is DebrasBabyStyle.

I have never seen a video or been to a sculpting seminar but have heard that Melissa's are great fun!

Hope you keep sculpting:)
Your graphic in this post didn't show up for some reason?
(Maybe it is my computer)

Thank you D'Light for your nice welcome!
Doll Fan is a message board for doll collectors and artists:)
It certainly sounds as though your sister is making some wonderful creations!
Thank you for sharing about her:)

I'm a sculptor! Small world -yep, lol! (Not dolls though) Wildlife/western/equine ect. I didn't know people sculpted dolls?
Are they cooked or cast? Just the faces/feet ect? Interesting,
I'll have to go check out the web sites.
Dollmaker: I write a little poetry too :):

I am going to try and post some photos of my OOAK One of A Kind hand sculpts.
Here are some of my sleeping babies.
(I also make awake with glass eyes:)
These are made from polymer clay. I don't use any molds and they are one of a kind.
Some are full sculpts and the life size babies have sculpted head, arms and legs and their body is soft so they can be cuddled:)
The lifesize babies can wear 0-3 month infant clothing.
They are cured in the oven.
I would love to see some of your sculpts too:)))

Wow! I've never seen one of a kind hand sculpted doll babies. My motherly voice says: You are quite talented young lady ;): My zombie inner voice says....Must have one- lol. I would love to have a personalized one of each my own babies, what a neat idea. As for me, I'm into the bronze (think Remington type) sculpting- I don't do wax I've only used clay so far. I will post some as soon as I get my photos out of our storge unit, I promised Pilgrimian (Matthew) I would. He is an artist too. Looks like there is lots of artistic talent lurking around RR :thumb
Thanks for sharing, nice meeting you!

Dollmaker:

I just saw your photos. Oh my, how talented and blessed you are.
Those babies are precious! And those presious lil' toes!

Those newborn faces, bring back wonderful memories, they are so realistic.

I majored in art only in 'high school', so never became real talented. But I have dabbled in sketching, pastels and watercolors, some small carving and bateking.

I do love poetry, and dabbled in that and short stories. I would love to work for a greeting card co., doing writing.

Could you give me some info. on Dollfan and where you find the seminars and videos? I'm sure my sis will love this.

Thank-you God bless you. -D:wave

Thank you Hyssop and D'Light!
You have made my day by your kind remarks:)
All the Glory goes to God.

I would love to see your bronze sculptures Hyssop:)
You must be really talented and experienced as well!
I have only been sculpting a few months so I don't know how to do that yet:)

(D'Light, here is the website address for Doll Fan.)
There is a very small fee to be a member there but you can read most of the posts for free:) It is a very busy board like RR. There is lots of information from other artists and you will probably find videos for sculpting and seminar announcements there.
Here is the link: http://www.doll-fan.com/index.php
I hope this helps:)
God Bless you! <><
