What do you as a Christian think Non-Christians think is so nuts about us Christians?
Has any Non-Christian who thinks your nuts tried to prove to you why they feel Christianity is false?

Truthfully this is something I've always wondered...having been saved for so long.
I think it is because we seem to know or have something that they don't (I don't mean this piously, just that it is foreign to a nonbeliever)...it scares them...and they want to understand it but yet can't because they are blinded. Could there be jealousy/envy also? Maybe this is why some people go about trying to harm Christians?

Steve....many non christians strive to be fashionable and it is not fashionable to be a Christian. The current PC stance on religion is that people can find God in many ways and through many relligions and not just Christianity.
To non christians we are intolerant, bigoted, too structured, judgemental, arrogant, and backwards.
Our insistence on Jesus being the only way drives them nuts, but thats the way it is!! Its Jesus and Jesus only!!

Fact is cameron222 that Chistianity is exclusive. By very definition I may be a bigot... I just admit that I am happy enough with that label... if they want to lable me ...and that really ticks them off...
The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.
bigot
SYLLABICATION: big·ot
NOUN: One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.
ETYMOLOGY: French, from Old French.
WORD HISTORY: Bigots may have more in common with God than one might think. Legend has it that Rollo, the first duke of Normandy, refused to kiss the foot of the French king Charles III, uttering the phrase bi got, his borrowing of the assumed Old English equivalent of our expression by God. Although this story is almost surely apocryphal, it is true that bigot was used by the French as a term of abuse for the Normans, but not in a religious sense. Later, however, the word, or very possibly a homonym, was used abusively in French for the Beguines, members of a Roman Catholic lay sisterhood. From the 15th century on Old French bigot meant “an excessively devoted or hypocritical person.” Bigot is first recorded in English in 1598 with the sense “a superstitious hypocrite.”

They can't understand the things we do and think we are fools because of what we believe.
1 Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
I have an idea, Steve, that most who try to talk us out of our beliefs are just trying to convince themselves that we are wrong.

It's not the NON-Christians thinking I'm nuts that bothers me, but the so-called Christians themselves.
Soooo many liberal-minded, worldly Christians out there, it's becoming increasingly difficult to even trust fully in fellowship with my own kind.

I think most of them are just scared of the truth. They like to believe it is them who is in control of thier destiny, thier life. They don't want to believe that anyone else has any control in thier life.
Amen Angyl! I agree.

I feel people (non-Christian) do not like or trust anything they don't understand or can control. Since they are carnal minded, they also do not understand the Christians priorities, that are more important than material things.
We need to keep in mind, concerning this matter, satan does not want them to understand, or to like what they see. If it were otherwise, there would be alot more Christians.
I haven't ever had anyone try to prove me wrong about the "Word" (that I can remember), but, yes, deffinately get
'the look', which as you know says alot! -D

I agree with Dune......I think non christians are trying to disprove what they know in their hearts to be true out of fear that they would have to drastically change their perverted lifestyle.

I've only been saved for 3 years so i still remember what i thought of Christians:
You were self-deluded
You allowed an old book of questionable authenticity to rule your lives
You thought you were better than everyone else
You thought you had a free ticket to heaven
You had the disgustingly egotistic view that the world was created for YOU
You women Christians were pathetic, allowing men to rule you because of the old musty, dusty book that was probably writen by a bunch of masochistic male chauvanists as they sat round a campfire eating funky mushrooms.
You think i ought to become like you
You put yourselves on a pedestal and tell me i'm a sinner
You think you belong to some exclusive little club
You act all pious when you think it will get you somewhere
The Bible does not make sense
The Bible condones violence (stoning), murder(wars), rape (Daina?), incest (Lot & Daughters), infantacide/child-killing (the bear that ate the stone-throwing boys).
The Bible tells you to be bigots (thou shall not suffer a witch to live)
The Bible tells women to kill two birds for sinning just because of her monthly time
If you are really Biblical Christians and believe it all, why do you eat pork and not sacrifice the animals you are supposed to
Your God is blood thirsty- lookit all the wars and baby killing (egyptian plagues etc)
You believe one guy got all the animals into a boat
The Bible dosen't mention dinosaurs, therefore it can't be accurate.
You are ignorant believing that Genesis is true.
Of course, the things that were wrong about Christians were "so obvious" to me, i thought they were fatally flawed themselves- so their thoughts meant little to me and i felt almost no threat from them.
Hope that helps people understand- and i hope everyone realizes i no longer think that way THANK THE LORD!!!

I have to agree in some cases!:nod But anyone can wear a Christian label and do things or say things in his name, is that any reason to burn along with them?
I used to tell my brother I didn't want to go to church and sit among a bunch of "Sunday Christians" who are nothing but hypocrites. He asked "So you'd rather spend an eternity in hell with them?"

It's probably because there ARE many who are nuts!:laugh Tell me,how many 'Christians' have you run in to that are 'slightly a bit off center'?? They have the strangest attitudes or a few bats in the bellfry, few cards shy of a full deck....you get my drift. God saves some strange ones, that's for sure!! Some Christians are gullible to a fault. They'll fall for or accept anything that comes along. A guy I worked with, was a manager of a grocery store. A very good manager and seemingly normal. He got saved, which was great and that was normal, but then he fell for this 'networking' scam deal, where you pay for a 'kit' of some sort, and sell the stuff to others and supposedly, the more folks you get in to the thing, the more YOU make...and so on. I saw it from the start that it wasn't a good thing,...not him, nope. Hook, line and sinker! And of course...it didn't work out. Level headedness suddenly went south....and this isn't the first time I've seen it. Christians, some, are just goofy.....God saves the goofy.:laugh

I skimmed through this.So I don`t know if anybody has said this or not.
Think about before you were saved.I for one thought I was a Christian.Yet,I thought all gods were the same in the end.I remember feeling a few things about Christians.
1.Whenever I heard them speak of Christ I felt an uncomfortable conviction.I wanted to think of myself as a good person, but according to these fanatics I am not.
2.I wanted to live my life the way I wanted too.I wanted God to be a distant thought if anything.I thought Christians were wasting their time.Especially since I thought I was saved because I was being a nice person instead of wanting to love God like they do.
3.I didn`t believe in hell and was offended by these fanatics saying there was an all loving God who would send even "good" people to hell.
4.I just thought they were nuts because they didn`t think the way I did.
One last thing.Does everybody else notice the heathen`s favorite verse?I hear it two ways. One is the right way and the other is just guessing.I`ve heard the second one more.
1.Hey the Bible says Judge not lest ye be judged.
2.Hey the Bible says not to judge.
Keep in mind most of the time when you hear it it is said just because you start talking about Jesus and that man is wicked.I think from now on I should throw out some scripture and ask what John 3:16 says or other familiar Bible verses.I am quite sure they won`t know what they say most of the time.
God bless you all in Christ Jesus.

:rofl
The funny part is I was brought up in a solid Christ centered home and I have always believed of those who don't profess Christ that THEY were the totally deluded. I always felt so sorry for their ignorance (and frustrated that I could not explain it in such a way they they understood).
Remember that silly movie "Matrix"? (not to start a Matrix discussion here) but when I saw that movie I thought WOW that really parallels the delusion that exists in this world. All around us are powers we do not see and cannot quite comprehend and so many of the peoples of the earth have absolutely no idea that they exist... and they can't know until they "take the red pill"... :doh

Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Actually you will be judged according to your judgement of others...
